The campus has more than 6.5 lakh sq. ft of built-up area with interconnected concrete campus roads and landscaped gardens. Institute has the following infrastructure.Two well-equipped air-conditioned Lecture Galleries (in the college block) are available for taking large group teaching. In addition, each department is equipped with a library cum seminar room, Lab, Demo rooms, and museum facility. Institute has equipped Central Research Lab, Photography Unit, MEU Unit, and Skill Lab for student learning.OPD and IPD areas are equipped with an examination room, demo room, and another training facility for clinical posting and patient learning purposes. Central Library is fully air-conditioned, and well equipped with more than 7000 Books of National and International additions. It has subscriptions to more than 100 National and International Journals. It has interactive multimedia CD-ROM and printing facility, in addition, it has 40 nods internet facility for students.

All the clinical facilities and labs for the students of Vels Medical College are provided in Vels Medical College and Hospital. Vels Medical College is located in Velan Nagar, Thiruvallur, Chennai. The Medical College is equipped with 430 beds. Vels Medical College & Hospital has Spacious OPD facilities for health care for all kinds of People. All the departments like General Medicine, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, OBG, Paediatrics, Ophthalmology, ENT, Dermatology, Psychiatry, and Dentistry have their OPD facilities.All the departments have sufficient space for teaching/clinical demonstration of cases with separate rooms. Clinical examination rooms have been provided for all the specialists. Furthermore, all the departments support the central facilities of ECG, USG, Plastering room, injection room, vaccination room, blood collection room, Minor O.T and also have counselling centre for clinical psychology, child psychology, audiometry, and speech therapy.”Shivalayaa” is a fully air-conditioned auditorium of 1500 seating capacity built with a view to holding various curricular, co-curricular and cultural activities like seminars, conferences, intra and inter-universities cultural fests. It is one of the biggest auditoriums in this part of Chennai that provides an opportunity for students to exhibit their innate talents during the course of their study.The Central library is air-conditioned and well-equipped with adequate Books, National and Internationals, Journals, Periodicals, A-V aids Interactive Multimedia, e-books and an online facility also provided for undergraduate students and faculty members. It is also provided with modern computer facilities with access to the internet for obtaining online update information. The college always encourages the students to make use of all the above facilities such as Lending Books, CD Rom browsing, Document scanning and Photocopying.The University have vast and well-laid-out tracks. The College provides excellent facilities for all indoor and outdoor games. The students get excellent training from a qualified Physical Director and his team of assistants. Separate staffs are available for sports training and provide all the necessary support for the students to participate in various inter-collegiate competitions to exhibit their talents and win medals and trophies. Vel’s Sports Academy functions to promote sports and games.
