The SS Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre was established in 2006 with the approval of the State and Central Government. The institution made a great start by organizing several national and national conferences and running a series of CME programs. And is one of the leading science medical institutes in the state of Karnataka.
The college is located in the city center as the Davangere Main Bus Station 3 km away and there is a round a clock service. Davangere railway station is one of the main railway stations in Karnataka located about 11 km from the college with a 30-minute drive. The nearest airport in the college is the Hubli International Airport, which is 132 km from the college and its good connected with other cities, and takes 2hours drive.
SSIMS spreads over 130 acres on National Highway 4 which focuses on providing an environment that helps students promote learning and a positive value system. The college has its own large and beautiful auditorium, which can having a seating capacity of about 1000 people.
The SSIMS Library was built within the area of 4,100 square meters and can be accommodated for 900 students at a time. Student’s Inside and Outside reading room has the capacity of 150 students each and also 30 persons can be seated in Staff reading room. SSMC Library has 12760 text books with 188 journals including 79 Indian journals and 109 Foreign journals and also has 45 computers with Internet connection.
The college campus at SSIMS & RC has six lecture halls, including a gallery type, which has a capacity of five theatres for 300 students and one for 650 students, and a lecture theater for a hospital with a capacity of 300 students. There is 2 examination Halls available that was built with the 250 sq.m each and has the capacity of 250 students each. There is an ATM of State Bank and Bapuji Co-operative Bank within the college campus.
